List of Low Carb Foods

lowcarbfoodsIf you’re interested in low carb dieting, but you’re tired of chicken, tuna and eggs or (insert whatever limited low carb food you’re getting sick of), you’re in luck! Here is the ultimate list of low carb foods!

I was reading a list of 40 low carb foods at bodybuilding.com and got the idea to pair the list up with Amazon.com for easy shopping. All of the foods on this list are excellent for low carb diets and will give you many options so you don’t get tired of the same menu items over and over.

When it comes to dieting, save your money to get healthy food alternatives for an Atkins-style diet that is low on carbs. I firmly believe that you can lose weight without spending money on weightloss pills and fads. Whereas when you’re doing something like bodybuilding, that requires your muscles to receive specific nutrients at set times, simply losing weight is extremely simple, just cut the carbs!

Their list, in my opinion, cheated to get to “40”. They included a bunch of meats, like chicken and fish. They featured steak and bison — that’s cheating (they’re both beef!) Below, I’ve made links to the foods that accompany each description so you can quickly and conveniently order your low carbohydrate meals from Amazon (skipping the meats, of course). Enjoy!

almond flour

Almond Flour

Almonds are great for paleo and low carb diets. A quarter cup of almonds provides only 6 grams of carbs. Almonds are also a good source of protein for body builders. It contains more vitamin E than grain flours. Get a sack of almond flour (4 sacks) from Amazon for only $28.

Almond Milk (Unsweetened)

At only 2g per cup, almond milk is an excellent way to add vitamin E to your diet. Vitamin E has been shown to ease oxidative stress caused from strenuous exercise. Make certain that sweeteners haven’t been added, or the amount of carbs will skyrocket. Six quarts (pack of 6) for $13.44 with 5 star reviews.

Aramanth

aramanth2When considering a low-carb diet plan, people rarely consider grains. However, Aramanth gives you some benefits mostly found in grains (like essential amino acids), while being on the low-side of carbs.

A half cup is only around 23 grams (around half of your daily allowance if you’re wanting to stay in ketosis). It is a great addition to any low carb diet or meal plan similar to Atkins.

If you have recipes that include quinoa, you can use aramanth in those recipes and it will taste great. Pick up a 5 pound bag of aramanth here from Amazon.
